This species is found in upland and lowland forests through its distribution (Handley 1976, Dolan 1989, Gregorin ;et al . 2011). It can be found in dry, semi-deciduous, mesophilous forests, pine, pine-oak and oak forests ;forest, as well as evergreen forest and towns ;(Ceballos and Oliva 2005). Like other small Molossus , it is insectivorous (Dolan 1989).	In southern Mexico the species is estimated to had 45% of habitat reduction (Cuaron and de Grammont, pers. comm.). Overall there are no major threats at this time.	The species is poorly known. It is uncommon to locally common (Reid 2009).	Decreasing	This species occurs from Jalisco and Cozumel Island ;(Mexico) ;to Nicaragua and Honduras, and southern Venezuela (McCarthy et al . 1993, Simmons 2005). Recently, it was recorded from Minas Gerais, Brazil (Gregorin et al . 2011). It occurs from lowlands to 1,300 m (Reid 2009). The species does not occur in El Salvador.
