The species appears to be quite common both in forest and plantations (Javier Juste pers. comm. 2008). A particular cave in Santa Catarina (north) had a quite impressive population (several thousands) that was near the 'city' and could be particularly sensitive to human disturbances (Javier Juste pers. comm. 2008).	The threats to this species are not well known.	It is a common species (Juste et al. 1994).	Unknown	This species is endemic to the island of São Tomé (São Tomé and Príncipe) where it is widespread (Juste et al. 2007). Terrestrial	It is not known if the species is present in any protected areas. Further studies are needed into the natural history and threats to this species.
