It is sensitive to forest loss but there is insufficient data to show it is declining at the rate required to qualify for listing in a threatened category.	This species has been recorded from lowland rainforests. It roosts in limestone caves, under rocks and in hollow trees (Payne et al. 1985). It is also found in virgin forest above 600m a.s.l (Tama Abu Range, 2017 unpub data).	Deforestation as a result of logging, expanding agriculture and plantations, and fires, as well as limestone extraction represent threats to this species.	This species is found in small numbers.	Unknown	This species occurs throughout Borneo and much of Peninsular Malaysia (Simmons 2005). For Borneo, in Sarawak, this type of specimen has been collected based on different districts in Sarawak which include Miri, Mulu National Park (Isham et al. 2012), Kapit, Ulu Baleh (unpub. data 2015), Niah National Park, Lambir Hill National Park (unpub. data 2014) and Tama Abu Range (unpub. data 2017), from Bintulu, Bukit Kana Tatau, Kampun Langgir, Engkilili and Similajau National Park, from Bau Limestone Area (unpub. data 2014) and Dered Krian National Park, Lubok Antu district in Batang Ai National Park and lastly in Kuching district which include Kubah National Park, Bako National Park (2015), Tanjung Datu National Park Gunung Gading National Park and Gunung Regu (Mathew et al. 2009 unpub. data) and Santubong National Park (unpub. data 2016). Meanwhile, in Sandakan Sabah this species is recorded from Imbak Canyon and Madai Forest Reserve, Lahad Datu (unpub. data, 2017).In Peninsular Malaysia, the existence of this species is recorded from Pulau Pinang, Perak, Terenganu and few caves from Kelantan. Terrestrial	This species occurs in protected areas. Survey and research work to improve the understanding of ecology and population biology of these bats.	Indomalayan FALSE	FALSE	Global	Simmons, N.
