The Slender Broad-nosed Bat is small, with slender skull and low narrow rostrum. Fur is dense and soft. Dorsal fur is dark to pale brown, with narrow but conspicuous white line from crown to base of caudal membrane; underparts are dark gray, with unicolored hairs. Face has four parallel, narrow, and white stripes; upper ones run from behind nose and over eyes to upper edges of ears on crown; lower ones are less sharply defined and run from upper lip under eyes to lower edges of ears. Noseleaf is fleshy, large, and spear-shaped; edges of noseleaf are dark, never bright yellow, and lower rim is free; single array of eight vibrissae surrounds margins of noseleaf; ears are large and rounded, edges sometimes pale, but never yellow; and interramal vibrissae are absent. Fifth metacarpal is shorter than third; elbows are densely furred and colored like back. Caudal membrane is very short in middle, with deep U-shaped margin; edge of caudal membrane has dense and long hairs; and upper surface of feet are densely covered with long hairs. I' converge and are broad, with parallel tips, and twice as long as I”. M' protocone is well developed. Three stylar cuspules occur on posterior cristid of P*. Previous records of this species have been under the name Platyrrhinus helleri , which was recognized as a species complex by Velazco and Patterson (2008) and Velazco et al. (2010). This species is a small nomadic frugivorous (see Soriano 2000), probably specialized on Ficus figs (Gardner 1977), and inhabiting humid and dry lowland forests of the northern Andes. Known roosting sites include foliage, branches, hollow trees and logs, as well as caves, tunnels, buildings, bridges, and road culverts (Ferrell and Wilson 1991), however, this list may include populations now under different species names.	The threats to this species are unknown. Some of the potential threats could be related to the restricted geographic distribution of the species resulting after the taxonomic split made by Velazco et al. (2010).	Although recently identified as a new species, P. angustirostris ;seems relatively common through its distribution based on the numerous records supporting its current distribution.	Stable	Platyrrhinus angustirostris is known from Colombia, Venezuela, eastern Ecuador, northern Peru, and is expected to occur in northern Brazil and eastern Guyana (Velazco et al. 2010). Terrestrial	The wide geographic range of the species overlaps national parks, natural reserves and protection forests through northern South America. Given P. angustirostris seems locally common, it probably faces lesser conservation concerns than other species. Some specific information about the ecology of the species, including potential threats, needs to be addressed.	Neotropical FALSE	FALSE	Global	Simmons, N. B., & Cirranello, A. L. (2023).
