The few known records come from five localities at the very fragmented and endangered Atlantic forests, suggesting that the species could have a patchy distribution, although a taxonomic review is barely needed to properly establish its actual distribution and abundance.	Eptesicus taddeii was captured using mist nets, which were set up 0.5 m above the ground. It was active all night, with captures between 18:30 and 5:40 hours, with captures occurring both in primary forests and in regenerating forests and forest edges (Miranda et al. 2006). It appears to be an insectivore, as in the case of most members of the Vespertilionidae family, and this genus in particular (Mies et al. 1996). In addition to the new species, Eptesicus brasiliensis and E. furinalis were collected in the type locality, in syntopy (Miranda et al. 2006).	No threats are known for this species, but the Atlantic forests where they live are subject to severe threats, including habitat fragmentation and reduction.	Based on the original description, this species seems locally common at least at the type locality. Currently it is known from less than five localities in three states of SE Brazil, most of them represented by 1-2 individuals each (Miranda et al. 2006).	Unknown	Eptesicus taddeii is hitherto known to occur in the southern and southeastern parts of Brazil. It species appears to occur in the Atlantic Rainforest (sensu lato ), with most of the occurrences being included in Araucaria Pine Forests (Miranda et al. 2006). Terrestrial	It is necessary to make a taxonomic review of the genus Eptesicus at southeastern Brazil, as individuals previously assigned to other species could represent this one (Miranda et al. 2006). Further research on its natural history is also needed. There are a few protected areas nearby the known localities for this species, but in general the Atlantic forests are highly fragmented and threatened.	Neotropical FALSE	FALSE	Global	Simmons, N.
